Backup Exec: Backup 2 Disk > Tape – Speed Up The Job Rate

Symantec bigBackup 2 Disk is commonly used to backup data at night to disk and after that backing up the disk files to tape. Usually this is done when you have a large backup wich will not fit the backup window and will not be done when the servers are used by users wich will decrease performance.

When you are expierence slow backup jobs when using the backup 2 disk option this article will hand out some tips to increase the job rate.

HP: Microsoft® Windows Event ID SNMP Traps Reference Guide

hp_logo_1When you are using HP hardware you sometimes see eventlog entries generated by the HP agents installed on the system or trough management software like Insight Manager.

The entries are sometimes a bit vague and it is not always clear what to do with it and maybe make a wrong(unneeded)descision like replacing a part that is generating the message.

McAfee ePolicy / VSE: Auto Update function not working properly

McAfeeThe following only applies to environments using McAfee Virusscan Enterprise with its management software
ePolicy Orchestrator.

When you install the Agent of McAfee ePolicy and after that do something as a repair of the McAfee Virusscan Enterprise
it is possible that it overwrites the Common Framework wich McAfee uses to update the software.

ArcServe Backup 12.5: Configure brick(document) level on Exchange Agent

With all of the previous versions you could simply modify the ARCServe Exhange agent by clicking
on its own link in the Start Menu of Windows

With the release of 12.5 this option dissappeared and needs to be configured the within
Backup Agent Admin program.
